Rated operating sequence of high voltage circuit breakers

The rated operating sequence of high-voltage circuit breakers is generally marked as O-0.3s-CO-180s-CO, or CO-15s CO. O represents an opening operation, and CO represents an opening operation immediately after a closing operation. 0.3s is the no-current interval time of the circuit breaker when the automatic reclosing is switched on, and 180s or 15s is the time interval between continuous operations of the circuit breaker without automatic reclosing (also called the forced power transmission time). The allowable no-current interval time of the circuit breaker depends on the time required for the circuit breaker to restore the arc extinguishing ability after the first opening. If the interval time is too short, when the circuit breaker is opened again after reclosing, its arc extinguishing capacity has not been restored yet, the breaking capacity of the circuit breaker during the second opening will decrease.
